BOWSWIM® Inventor Randy Reid of Creekside R&D, LLC is the holder of two U.S. patents. His interest and involvement in resistance swimming systems goes back more than twenty years. Randy is shown here with Barbara Little.
Although he was directly involved with the early development of lesser systems (now in direct competition with BOWSWIM®), Reid was not satisfied, and went on to develop and manufacture the superior product he envisioned: the BOWSWIM® Resistance Swimming System.
Swimmer magazine, the publication of U.S. Masters Swimming, had this to say after testing various systems:
“…Editor’s Note: Two similar products from another manufacturer were tested alongside the Bowswim. The other manufacturer withdrew them from the process after testers broke both of them within seconds of swimming against them.” Read the U.S. Masters Swimming Review
Remove pole from case,
and fully extend, hand snug. Place end of pole into deck plate or ladder clamp.
Belt to tether assembly is shown below.
Yes and no. If you have a ladder or handrail with a horizontal section where the water is deep enough to swim, we recommend adding the Ladder Clamp to your order if drilling isn't to your liking.
If no ladder then you will need to drill a 1 inch hole in the pool deck. If you have a coping we recommend going into it on the away side of the water and at least 2 inches from that side. If you have straight concrete just go in it at least 6 to 8 inches away from side.

Always rinse off all Bowswim component parts with fresh water. Never leave Bowswim and the belt out in the sun for long periods. The sun will eventually cause the color to fade and cause material break down, especially if you swim in chlorinated water and don't rinse the belt with fresh water after every use.
If you have a salt water pool, salt may build up on the Bowswim. Therefore, rinsing and drying after every use is VERY important. If the conical parts of the bow start to stick, wash with soapy water and rinse thoroughly until all slide easily again.
The BOWSWIM® belt may be washed in mild detergent.
Allow all components to dry thoroughly before returning to case.
Properly cared for, your Bowswim will provide excellent service for many, many years.

Using the BOWSWIM® Ladder Attachment Clamp, installation could not be easier. Wrap the clamp around the pool ladder, close it, and you're ready to go!
Our clamp can be adjusted to fit most circumferences. Use the spinning cam handle to adjust the inside diameter of the clamp to fit the outside diameter of the ladder or handrail where you want to place your BOWSWIM®. The ladder clamp must be installed on a horizontal section of the ladder or handrail.
